Fortunately, the Ruby Tuesday gluten free menu offers tons of delicious options for anyone who needs to avoid gluten. But there are still some things to keep in mind when choosing their GF options from their menu.

History of Ruby Tuesday

Ruby Tuesday, a well-known American multinational food service retailer, was born out of a simple idea: to provide a place where people could enjoy a great meal and good times with friends and family.

The first Ruby Tuesday restaurant was established in 1972 in Knoxville, Tennessee, by five University of Tennessee students.

The name "Ruby Tuesday" was inspired by the Rolling Stones song of the same name, reflecting the fun, casual, and friendly atmosphere they wanted to foster.

Over the years, Ruby Tuesday has expanded its footprint, boasting over 200 locations across the globe today.

Despite its growth, the brand has stayed true to its roots, focusing on serving high-quality, fresh American fare in a welcoming environment.

Is Ruby Tuesday Gluten Free?

Ruby Tuesday is not entirely gluten free but they do a lot to make sure their customers have access to information to figure out what they can or cannot eat while dining there.

This is all thanks to their online menu that allows you to select what you're allergic and/or sensitive to so that it can give you personalized information.

While testing, I loved testing it out since it mentions what's 'OK to Eat,' 'OK to Eat with Modifications,' and 'Not OK to Eat.'

The best part is that when you click on one of the menu items under 'OK to Eat with Modifications,' it mentions exactly what to avoid.

Tips for Placing a Gluten-Free Order at Ruby Tuesday

  • Communicating with the Staff: The first rule of thumb when ordering gluten-free at any restaurant, including Ruby Tuesday, is to clearly communicate your dietary needs to the staff. Make sure to inform them that you require gluten-free meals. This helps ensure that your food is prepared and handled correctly, reducing the risk of cross-contamination.
  • Check the Menu: Ruby Tuesday has a variety of gluten-free options. Before placing your order, take a moment to review their menu. This will give you an idea of what gluten-free dishes they offer.
  • Ask Questions: If you're unsure about a dish, don't hesitate to ask. The staff at Ruby Tuesday can provide details about the ingredients and preparation process. This can help you make an informed decision about what to order.
  • Customize Your Order: Don't be afraid to customize your order. If you see a dish that you'd like, but it contains gluten, ask if it can be made gluten-free. Many restaurants are willing to make substitutions or alterations to accommodate dietary needs.
  • Be Patient: Preparing gluten-free meals may take a bit longer, as special care is needed to avoid cross-contamination. Be patient and understanding of this process.
